An ideal gift, or personal indulgence – The MatsiMela Pedicure Journey will certainly become a favorite for any person who has tried it.  Although I have to admit my Journey was about an hour, as the staff of MatsiMela and The Fairway Spa, took the treatment to a new level of indulgence, showcasing the flexibility of this treatment, which allows spas to individualize treatments, if preferred.

Beautifully packaged, these proudly South African products contain the finest ingredients sourced from throughout the country.  As an example the Kalahari salt comes from an area in the Kalahari, which was never inhabited or used for industrial purposes.  Here a crystal clear underwater stream runs through a rock formation that originates from the Dwyka strata era and is around 280 million years old, the result the salt remains pure, natural and totally untreated. Organic green rooibos: A fine hygroscopic Green Rooibos (Green Aspalathus linearis) powder, developed to maximize anti-oxidant levels. An ideal immune-booster, anti-carcinogenic, anti-mutagenic and high in anti-ageing properties.  This rooibos tea is collected from the mountainsides in small batches. Other ingredients  include: Marula Oil, Kaolin,  Ubuntu Ximenia, Ubuntu Mafura, Baobab oil, Mango Butter, Shea Butter.

Steps in the Pedicure journey include the Salt Foot Exfoliator, leaving the feet cleansed and transformed, followed by the foot mud masque, left on for 10 minutes as it dries and then rinsed off, leaving the feet exceptionally soft and nourished, and then the last step, the MatsiMela’s moisture enriched foot butter masque, combined with a foot massage, this product remains on for 10 minutes and can either be washed off or left on, leaving your feet feeling as beautiful as ever.
