The 7th annual Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Spa Awards hosted by Les Nouvelles Esthetiques South Africa in association with Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Paris, on Sunday the 10 July 2011, at the prestigious Sandton Sun Hotel, Sandton, Johannesburg.
The Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Spa Awards Gala Dinner evening was filled with excitement and glamour, as each spa waited in anticipation for the results. And on behalf of Les Nouvelles Esthetiques I would like to congratulate all the finalists and winners as they continue to excel in providing the South African community with the keys to relaxation and wellness. The Spa Awards programme is more than pure recognition of achievement, it sets a benchmark for spas in South Africa, and all the finalists and winners are worthy of this acknowledgment.
In this issue we feature each Spa Awards 2011 winner and finalist, in an extensive Spa Awards special feature and I encourage each spa to place the magazine in the reception or relaxation area, allowing spa-goers to marvel at South African Spa excellence.
In this issue, Les Nouvelles Esthetiques looks at The Link between Spas and Medical Tourism, with the upcoming 7th World Annual Health Tourism Congress being held in Durban in October. For many spa professionals, the term “medical tourism” may sound a bit mysterious, but leaving home for care and treatment is a ritual that dates back thousands of years to when Greek pilgrims travelled to the Mediterranean to an area known for its healing powers. Medical tourism includes both international and domestic travel, whether it is to an exotic resort halfway around the world or driving to a health care facility several hours away.
Turning your Fantasy into Reality. In order to be a successful spa owner, you must first be prepared, and speaking with someone with years of experience will certainly be beneficial for your business. From development and planning, to architectural and creative design, to marketing and managing a spa, the advice from these spa industry leaders assists with the essentials on what you need to know about starting a spa.
Additionally, many spa goers are now rejecting the one-size-fits-all treatment in favour of a spa experience that is unique to their particular needs for healing or relaxation. Successful spas are accommodating their client’s desires for customization and reaping the benefits of a loyal clientele, not to mention the incremental revenue from add-on facial and body treatments. Les Nouvelles Esthetiques looks at this reality.
Dr Baumann is hosting 2 seminars, the Skinology Seminar and the Skincare Millionaire Seminar in October, definitely not to be missed and Celeste Peters shares her Signature Treatment experiences at 2 spas, as they delight guests with Unique Signature Treatments, inspired by Olivier Aron, Massage Academy – Paris. New Signature Massage Creation and Marketing courses are scheduled for January 2012, so as recommended by a number of the spas managers who attended, ensure your book early to not miss out on this inspirational and creativity challenging course.
