Renowned for its unrivalled luxury safari destinations in Africa, Singita Game Reserves offer personalized, life-changing guest experiences. Integral to the Singita signature is a spa and wellness offering that embraces the natural healing properties of nature, while incorporating cutting edge technology. Ever at the forefront of global trends, it recently introduced the latest in ultrasonic skincare technology, the progressive Bio Therapeutic bt-micro™ and the bt-analyze™ at its lodge spas in South Africa.
Application of the hand-held ultrasonic machines before each Dermalogica facial, greatly enhances the results of the active ingredients in skincare products. The revolutionary Bio Therapeutic machines, touted as the latest ‘ultrasonic wonders’ in facial skin care, have notably elevated the quality of facial skin care at Singita Sabi Sand, and also at Singita Kruger National Park, which was recently voted the Best Hotel Spa in Africa and the Middle East in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2011 readers’ survey.
The Singita wellness experience is distinguished by a selection of signature treatments that tap into the secrets of the earth. These are offered at Singita’s authentic ‘bush spas’ to complement the distinct wilderness destination it serves.
Among these, the signature Monkey Orange massage treatment employs ‘monkey oranges’ from the Calabash family. The ‘monkey oranges’ harden when dried out, allowing therapists to use massage techniques that glide these smooth, natural round balls over the body to relieve stress, and induce a state of relaxation that is enhanced by the use of a blend of Marula and Neroli essential oil.
Other signature treatments that draw on the secrets of the African landscape and that may also be taken in the privacy of the guest’s private room, or weather permitting, in a select safe outdoor setting within the reserve, include the Swiharhi Big Five, a relaxing combination of five therapies: exfoliation, body wrap, African head massage, reflexology and an Inkaba balance full body massage. The N’weti Touch of Moonlight treatment is a full body massage with new soya based therapy candles as an alternative to traditional aromatherapy, with a choice in aromatic fragrances to present an uplifting, relaxing, calming or stimulating effect.
Says Chief Marketing Officer for Singita Game Reserves, Lindy Rousseau: ‘Our spa product is an integral component of the luxurious, world class safari experience we offer our guests, and we strive to give our discerning guests a bona fide ‘taste of Africa’ with a range of authentic signature treatments. The sophisticated Bio therapeutic technology we have acquired for our South African spas reflects the very latest global advances in spa and beauty equipment, equipping our teams of professional therapists to deliver state-of-the-art facial skin care. The response from our guests has been phenomenal, and many cannot believe the dramatic, immediate results in terms of their skin’s texture and appearance.’
With its spectacular setting on the remote far eastern reaches of the Park, the Spa at Singita Kruger National Park services Relais & Châteaux lodges Singita Lebombo and Singita Sweni, while spas at Singita Sabi Sand’s Singita Ebony lodge and Singita Boulders lodge, also service guests at nearby Singita Castleton Camp. Singita spas are designed to combine African earthiness and soulful treatments, with walls of glass and large windows inviting nature in, culminating in a sensory, natural wellness experience designed to restore body, mind and soul.
