Terres d’ Afrique is a skincare range that is proudly manufactured in South Africa using sustainably developed organic plants taken straight from the African grounds. Not only are the products certified organic and Phytotrade and Beauty without cruelty approved, but the packaging is made with materials and processes that are eco-friendly and have a very light footprint. Seeing as ‘going green’ is the new in, I was very excited when I got an invite to come and try their products.
On Wednesday morning, I met with the Terres d’ Afrique product developer, Stephane Helary, at their retail space in the Maboneng Precinct, where he shared with me his passion for his skin care range and his vision for the product in the years to come. A foot step away from this space is the Cocoon Spa, where I was taken next and greeted with a fresh earthy aroma. Cocoon Spa is focused on the health and spiritual wellness of each and every client. The pinewood structure is home to a peaceful and relaxing spa in the heart of a busy city.
I was shown to the treatment area where soft music and dim lighting set the scene for a one hour Terres d’ Afrique facial. Throughout the facial I could smell the different botanical aromas such as marula, rooibos, citrus, manketti and baobab which were found in the gentle face scrub and light face cream. As promised by the therapist, I left the treatment feeling relaxed and my skin feeling soft, hydrated and with an African sunset glow.
