Lorraine Leas
Managing Director of Amipro
As a pharmacist Lorraine Leas knew there was more to help patients get better than just drugs. The advice element between pharmacist and patient seemed limited – something was missing…
The same conversations came about and the realisation that stress was the number one factor – stress particularly causes stress in the body
Being retrenched at 50 and faced with a choice to go back to being a dispensing pharmacist or following this intuitive passion of starting a business. Lorraine chose the second option
Through personalized lifestyle medicine the decision to launch Amipro in SA came about. Her belief that partnerships between consumers and medical professionals were vital in creating personalized health care that everyone was seeking
And thus the business emerged. From the second bedroom in Lorraine’s home, the entire house, the cottage, the house next door to a building with a warehouse. Within a few years the company has grown from a one man show to a 25-member staff contingent and the perpetual growth continues as people have related to Lorraine’s unceasing passion. Lorraine’s daughter Taryn joined her in directorship and they have forged a strong path toward the future
