The Banksia Spa opened in February and is managed by the Sanctuary Group. Located in a quiet lane in Rosebank, the Banksia spa was created by Shelley Kingston, owner of the luxury Banksia Boutique Hotel. A furniture designer by trade, Shelley utilizes the eight roomed hotel as a lifestyle showroom for her creations.
The spa décor is reminiscent of Hollywood glamour with crystal chandeliers, magnificent mirrors and palates of cream and white. Located in a separate loft area overlooking the Victorian manor house and gardens, the Spa has three treatment rooms and a Rasul. Phytomer is used for facial treatments and Moya for body treatments.
My Therapist was Heather and she began by cleansing my feet in a hand carved wooden bowl. Using Cape Chamomile and Geranium Essential oils she massaged my body from head to toe, giving me the most spectacular massage that I have experienced in a long time. It was an exceptional treatment and her passion for body therapies is evident in her massages. The Banksia is one of only two spas in Cape Town offering Phytomer facial treatments. Heather recommended that I have the 60 minute Sea Water Pearl Facial for dehydrated skin. The treatment began with a ritual Sea Mist Spray using Relaxing Serum. Phytomer’s renowned self-heating mud is included in the Rebalancing mask. A Bolous filled with hydrating caviar balls and marine extracts is used in the facial massage.
Treatments can be performed in the elegant Conservatory of the main hotel, which also houses the large swimming pool, Jacuzzi and outside dining area. With a flowing fountain, huge palm trees, white lilies and lush ferns it is a perfect setting for relaxation. The dining area is bright and airy, decorated in hues of creams and white. All food, including the bread, is homemade and freshly prepared on the premises by the resident chef. My Mediterranean tartlet and fresh herb salad were delicious. The comprehensive breakfast menu includes a continental buffet and a-la-carte menu. The Banksia Boutique Hotel and Spa is ideal for individuals, couples or small groups wanting to experience a few hours of relaxation in an elegant luxury environment.
This is awesome and might be expensive over here, its fun to have there in Sanctuary Spa at The Banksia Boutique Hotel, Rosebank
