I am sure you are aware of our Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign that takes place every year in October.
Our Campaign concept is “Courage: Believe in a world without breast cancer – know we are here until it’s true.” This year’s bold, empowering theme highlights Estee Lauder Companies 20-year commitment to defeating breast cancer through education and medical research. This year we also celebrate the life and legacy of Campaign Founder and Pink Ribbon Co-Creator, Mrs. Evelyn H. Lauder.
We would like to further expand our support of the Look Good Feel Better Foundation which helps cancer patients address the appearance related side effects of their treatment – in a practical and positive way through interactive workshops held at all the major hospitals and clinics countrywide. Each patient receives, from the cosmetics industry, a free bag with products to be used as tools to best address the distressing visible side effects experienced through cancer. Guided through the 12 step skincare and make-up regime, the attendees are taught simple and effective techniques to deal with the drastic changes in appearance due to her cancer treatment. Patients leave feeling uplifted and empowered, and bolstered by the support and kinship that they experience with similarly affected women. Last year through our ribbon selling efforts, we were able to donate a further R120 000 to the project and this has enabled Look Good Feel Better to expand to more hospital and reach in excess of 15 000 patients.
We want to continue to support this great program and wondered if you would like to buy each of your staff a pink ribbon which they can wear throughout the month of October to show their support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
These ribbons cost R15 each and come with a bookmark that gives a step by step guide on how to self examine and highlight key points on Breast Cancer Awareness.
Order forms are available, which we would be grateful to receive back by the end of July so we can prepare your order ready for delivery in early September. It does not matter how big or small your order is. Every little bit can help!
