Integrative and Aesthetic Care in a Spa Environment – Dr Rieckie Smit MBChB (UOFS). MSc Sports Medicine(Pret)
Aesthetic Medicine has continuously proven to be one of the fastest growth industries worldwide and subsequently exposed to tremendous change. We see new devices, techniques, products, ingredients and information emerging from all sides of the world. Unfortunately education on all the new material and the legislation is not keeping up with the tremendous growth. Dr Riekie Smit brings us up to speed with all the industry changes, legal requirements and logistics of introducing these therapies into your spa.
Topics to be covered include the following:
• How to increase revenue in your spa by incorporating medical aesthetics.
• How to go about this – i.e. how to approach the correct medical practitioner.
• Where to find a medical practitioner that will be willing to work with your spa.
• What should you look for in a medical practitioner to avoid reputational damage for your spa.
• What are the risk factors, if any, involved in incorporating medical aesthetics to your services.
• How does payment work i.e. where the spa makes their money after the medical practitioner is paid.
• What are the various ways in which spas can incorporate medical aesthetics into their spa.
• What are the various options available in terms of treatments i.e. peels, Botox, fillers etc.
• What are the legal implication and requirements of incorporating these treatments into a spa.
